Here is a map of Nepal! We'll be living in Nepalgunj, that red lettered city in the southwest part of the country. Nepalgunj is in the mid-far western region of Nepal and in the Terai. Anuraj's younger sister and family live in Kathmandu and his parents and oldest sister and family live in Biratnagar (southeastern part of of Nepal).
Nepal has been compared in size and shape to Iowa, South Carolina and Arkansas. The crazy thing is that the country goes from plains (70 m above sea level) to rolling hills to mountains to Mt. Everest (8850 m above sea level) in 200km/125 miles. Wikipedia actually has a pretty good synopsis of the country: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nepal#Government_and_politics
If you're interested in local news, one of the national newspapers that Anuraj reads is: http://www.kantipuronline.com/
You can also find national/regional news at BBC and Reuters: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/south_asia/default.stm
http://in.reuters.com/news/southAsia
That's all for now! The next post I'll tell you about how you can call us when we're in Nepal!
